Character Art
While my main focus is on making games I do also work in character design and open commissions. The following is some examples of my work and my process for creating new characters.
Artistic Process
Ink and grey scale

I begin with a basic outline of what I want to character to look like, either my personal preference or the client's description. From there I do an ink outline and some simple grey scaling.
Flat color

From there I do some color palettes to understand the character's color scheme. I do flat color for the entire character before moving onto the last steps.
Shading and Texture

Finally I texture the different areas, normally this is metal, skin, or fabric, and shade the character. This is adding a shadow layer, highlight layer, and in some cases a shine and rim light layer.
Turning a character into a 3D model
For the example character above I was required to turn them into a 3D model using Blender. This is a screenshot of the finished project. I choice to do an A-pose verses a T-pose mainly because it was easier with the cloak, although if I had to do this over again I would do a T-pose for ease of animation.
